Last night, I noticed a photo of a little boy on the Sacred Heart Children's Hospital Facebook page who has Leukemia. The article said that he loved to play the video game Mario Party 5. So Zoe said "we need to make him a pillow". She had been braiding her hair as you can see in the photo, but decided the pillow was more important. She got out paper and pencil and drew the pattern from a photo for a #1-Up Mushroom, a Mario character.
I helped her to get the pattern correct and she cut it out, used the Accuquilt Go for the circles, and sewed it together with a little help. Then she stuffed it. There is one important point about this pillow and the character. In the game, this character "gives an extra life"! We hope to give it to this boy soon. I am so proud of her! And here's the finished pillow.
