DECORATING THE BED RAILS OF A HOSPITAL BED

If you've been in any hospital room, you know how drab it can be.  I noticed that at the children's hospital.  There's so much equipment and IV poles and machines making noises.  And, of course, the blinds are almost always closed so the child can rest and sleep.  I was discussing with Annette what we could do and she mentioned hanging something from the bed rail that the child could look at.  Lots of beds - need something easy and quick.  Today I made this for the bed rail.  Took a piece of stripe/border fabric and cut it 18", ironed fusible fleece to the back, added ribbon for hanging, and a backing.  Hoping to take this to the hospital this week and see if it works so I can make more.

I did make IV pole decorations.  These are photos of the originals.  Going to make it about half the length but otherwise it works great.  And they can take it home when the child is released to hang in their room.
