Delivery day tomorrow to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital.  Here's what I'm taking!

These are my newest pillows - actually there are 15 that I'm delivering.  I wanted something that would not only be a pillow but a doll as well.  Something to hold, cuddle, and maybe talk to.  And I wanted small hands and feet that wouldn't get caught in any IV lines and that a child could rub between their fingers to make them feel better and relax them.  I created this pattern by taking an 8.5"x12" Omnigrip ruler and cutting the head 8.5" wide by 5" long and the body 8.5" wide x 7" long.  The hands and feet are cut 2.5"x3.5".  I used fleece for the head and wool felt for the eyes & nose.  The body fabric is flannel.  I bought flannel with animals on it and then cut out ears, noses and eyes to match the animal on the fabric - Hello Kitty, Snoopy, Yogi Bear and more.  These are really fun to make and I may do a tutorial on how to make them.

By request, I also made crib decorations. These are strips of children's fabric with colorful characters and an oval of wool felt.  They hang from the side of the crib.  Annette, the Child Life Specialist and the awesome lady I work with on this, will write the child's name in the oval.  So simple to make and may not bring a smile to the littlest baby, but definitely will bring a smile to the parents!

Now I'm on to Christmas.  Santas, snowmen, reindeer, penguins and more.  Lots to do - have to get busy!
